01Who we are#

In short

Daily Planner is a free app made by one independent developer.

Daily Planner ("the app", "we", "us") is a free planner for gaming, sleep and coding habits. It's built and run by one independent developer, not a company. It's hosted on GitHub Pages and uses Google Firebase for accounts and syncing.

This policy explains what information the app handles, why, who can see it, how long it's kept, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, the installed app version, and every page inside it.

02Information we collect#

In short

Only what the app needs to work. Without an account, nothing leaves your device except AI and Bible verse requests.

When you use the app without an account (guest mode)

Your plan, checklists, logs and settings are saved only in your browser's storage on that device. They are never uploaded to us. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, guest data is gone.

When you create an account

WhatExamplesWhy we need it
Account detailsEmail address, encrypted password (handled by Firebase, we never see it), the date the account was madeTo sign you in and keep your account safe
Google sign-in detailsYour Google name, email and profile picture linkTo sign you in with Google and show your picture in the profile menu
Planner dataYour onboarding answers (games, goals, bedtime, coding level), checklists, sleep and coding logs, notes, scores, ranks, challenges, theme and settingsTo sync your planner across your devices
Recent loginsDevice and browser type (like "Chrome on Windows") and the time of each loginSo you can spot logins that weren't you
Leaderboard (only if you join)Your leaderboard name, friend code, current and best streak, your friends listTo show your streaks to friends
NudgesYour leaderboard name and the time you nudged a friendTo deliver the nudge. It's deleted as soon as your friend sees it
Feedback (only if you send it)Your message, its type (bug, idea, other), the page you were on, and your account ID if signed inTo read and fix what you report

What we don't collect

  • Your exact location, contacts, photos or files
  • Payment details. The app is free and has nothing to buy
  • Advertising IDs or tracking profiles
  • Your gameplay from game clients. Scores and ranks are only what you type in

03How we use your information#

In short

To run the app and nothing else. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for ads.

  • Build your daily plan from your onboarding answers
  • Sync your planner between your devices when you're signed in
  • Keep your account secure (login history, email verification, signing you out after 14 days away, "Log out everywhere")
  • Show leaderboard streaks to the friends you add, and deliver nudges
  • Make AI practice plans and coding project ideas (see the next section)
  • Read feedback and fix bugs
  • Stop abuse, like spam, bad names or bots

We don't use your information to build profiles about you, sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers.

04AI features#

In short

Only your game name and coding choices go to Google's Gemini AI. Never your name, email or notes.

Some features use Google's Gemini AI through Firebase AI Logic:

  • Game practice plans: the game name you typed and the genre you picked are sent so the AI can suggest drills, focus areas and rank names.
  • Coding project ideas: your coding level and the type of coding you picked are sent so it can suggest a project.

Your name, email, notes, logs and other planner data are not sent. Results are saved in your planner so the same request isn't repeated, and each device is limited to a small number of AI requests per day.

On Google's free tier, Google may use these requests to improve its products, and people at Google may review them. That's one more reason the app never sends anything personal. If the AI is unavailable, the app uses its built-in plans instead.

AI can be wrong. Treat its tips as suggestions, not facts.

05Services we use#

In short

A few trusted services help run the app. Each has its own privacy policy.

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it may see
Google FirebaseSign-in, database (Cloud Firestore), AI LogicYour account and planner data, IP address
Google GeminiWrites practice plans and project ideasGame name, genre, coding level and type
Google reCAPTCHA (Firebase App Check)Blocks bots and fake requestsDevice and browser signals, IP address
Google FontsLoads the app's fontsIP address and browser type
GitHub PagesHosts the websiteIP address and pages requested (standard server logs)
cdnjs (Cloudflare)Loads the drag-to-reorder libraryIP address and browser type
bible-api.comLoads the daily Bible verse textIP address and the verse requested

We only use these services to run the app. We don't give them your planner data except Firebase, which stores it for us.

06Cookies and on-device storage#

In short

No tracking or ad cookies. The app saves your planner on your device so it works offline.

The app uses your browser's storage (local storage, IndexedDB and an offline cache) for things like:

  • Your planner and settings, so the app works offline
  • When you last opened the app, so we can sign you out after 14 days away
  • Which "What's new" notes you've seen
  • How many AI requests you've used today
  • A copy of daily quotes and verses so they load fast
  • Your sign-in session (saved by Firebase)

Google reCAPTCHA may set its own cookies to tell people and bots apart. We don't use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear all of this at any time in your browser's site settings. If you do, guest data is deleted, and signed-in users just need to log in again.

07Who can see your data#

In short

Only you can read your planner. Friends see only your leaderboard name and streaks.

  • You: your planner, notes, logs and login history can only be read by your account. This is enforced by Firestore security rules on the server, not just by the app.
  • Friends: people you add on the leaderboard see your leaderboard name and streaks. Anyone signed in who has your friend code can see the same. Nothing else is shared.
  • The developer: can read feedback you send and manages the app's shared content (quotes, challenges, news). The database owner can technically access stored data through Firebase, but doesn't look at personal planner data except when needed to fix a problem you report or to stop abuse.
  • The law: we may share information if the law truly requires it, and only what's required.

We never sell or rent your information to anyone.

08How long we keep it#

In short

Until you delete it. Most things go away the moment you delete your account.

DataHow long it's kept
Account and planner dataUntil you delete your account
Login historyUntil you delete your account (the app shows the latest 8)
Leaderboard entryUntil you leave the leaderboard or delete your account
NudgesDeleted as soon as your friend opens the app
FeedbackKept so we can fix issues, unless you ask for it to be removed
Guest dataOn your device until you clear it
Server logs (GitHub, Google)Kept by those services under their own policies

09How we protect it#

In short

Your data is protected, but no app can promise perfect security.

  • All traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us in readable form
  • Server-side security rules make sure each account can only read and change its own data
  • Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA blocks bots and fake requests
  • Strong password rules, email verification and safe-email checks at sign up
  • Automatic sign-out after 14 days away, and "Log out everywhere" in Settings
  • A strict content security policy that blocks unknown scripts

No method of storing or sending data is 100% secure. Use a password you don't use anywhere else, and tell us right away if you think your account was accessed by someone else.

10Your choices and rights#

In short

You can see, download, change or delete your data at any time.

You want to…How
See or download your dataSettings → Export my data gives you a full copy as a file
Change your dataEdit it right in the planner, or Settings → Redo setup
Stop syncingUse the app without an account, or log out
Leave the leaderboardLeaderboard → Leave removes your entry
Sign out other devicesSettings → Log out everywhere
Delete everythingSettings → Delete account. Your account, planner data, login history, leaderboard entry and nudges are permanently deleted

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have extra rights, like asking what data we hold or asking us to delete feedback. We're happy to honor these requests for everyone. Just contact us.

11Children#

In short

You must be 13 or older to make an account.

The app isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you're a parent or guardian and think a child under 13 made an account, contact us and we'll delete it. If you're under 18, please check with a parent or guardian before signing up.

12Where data is processed#

In short

Your data is stored on Google's servers, which may be outside your country.

Firebase and the other services above may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Their privacy protections may differ from the ones where you live. By using the app, you understand your information may be handled in these places.

13Changes to this policy#

In short

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.

We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date. Big changes will also show in the app's What's new popup. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated policy applies.

14Contact us#

The easiest way to reach us is Send feedback in the app (profile menu), or by opening an issue on GitHub. Please don't post private details like your email or password in a public GitHub issue. If your question is private, use Send feedback instead and we'll reply as soon as we can.

Still have questions? We're happy to help.
